Northland Women's Club (NWC)Annual Charity Ball supporting local
The Northland Women's Club is excited to announce that its Annual Charity Ball is just 42 days away. Now in its third year, the club has grown to over 300 members, uniting the community through impactful charitable events held annually to raise vital funds that remain within Northland.
Since the club’s founding three years ago, each ball has championed important causes: the inaugural ball supported Breast Cancer, the second benefitted Heart Foundation New Zealand, and this year the focus returns to Breast Cancer Support in Northland.
The upcoming event promises an unforgettable evening on Saturday, 18th October 2025, from 5:30 PM to midnight at the Turner Centre, 43 Cobham Road, Kerikeri. Guests will be welcomed with an exclusive arrival cocktail by Cadrona Distillery and a glass of Ayala French champagne, followed by a special three-course dinner crafted by renowned local chefs Ken Van Mackelbergh and Tama Choat. The night will continue with live entertainment, ensuring guests dance and celebrate in style.
A highlight of the evening will be the charity auction, where every bid directly contributes to life-saving support services for those affected by breast cancer in Northland. All proceeds will remain in the region, strengthening the community’s ability to provide essential care and resources.
This year’s ball holds special significance as the club’s chair, Darlene Smits, will share her personal journey. Diagnosed with breast cancer during the second annual ball, Darlene will speak candidly about the challenges she has faced and offer insight into her vision for the future. Her story embodies the courage and resilience at the heart of the club's mission. Breast Cancer Foundation Chief Executive Ah-Leen Rayner will be on hand to share plans for critical programs launching in Northland.
NWC is supported Milford Asset, whose backing enables them to continue the important work they do, and it’s important to note board members and members give their time freely to support these important causes.
The dress code for the evening is Black, White & Sparkles with splashes of pink, symbolising hope and solidarity. Tickets are available now, and early booking is encouraged to secure a place at this memorable event.
Join us in celebrating community strength and compassion and help make a difference in the lives of those facing breast cancer in Northland.
